YouTube DIY tech star Allen Pan has made devices ranging from a grappling hook gun to  Spider Man web shooters.

But this time, he’s gone a step further, revealing his Punch Activated Arm Flamethrowers in a new video.

The flamethrowing gloves, inspired by anime characters and computer games such as Street Fighter, track the wearer’s arm motion, and only activate on ‘good punches’.

The flamethrowing gloves, revealed on Allen Pan’s YouTube channel Sufficiently Advanced, were inspired by the art of firebending seen in the TV series Avatar: The Last Airbender, and The Legend of Korra, a series also set in the Avatar universe.

The flamethrower part of the glove relies on a solenoid valve, an arc lighter – an electric, battery-powered lighter – for ignition, and a chamber containing flammable butane gas to produce the flames.
